I got a scanner this weekend and it completely took over my life! But the great thing is, I can now share my favorite wedding I've ever seen: my grandparent's.
I'm not totally sure about the year, though I'd estimate about 1958 or 1959. The bridesmaids wore blue, with matching veils. I've always loved how very formal and classic this wedding is, and how adorable my grandparents are.
This is my favorite wedding photo of the batch, and maybe of anyone, ever. I hope I can maybe replicate it, but I don't think that's even possible, because this is just that classic.
In other news, today is my one-year blogiversary!! Hopefully I can pull together a fun post to commemorate such an event later tonight. Thank you for reading, friends!
You already know I love every. single. one of your dresses. So now you have to go and advertise them in my exact palette? I'm pretty sure I just had a heart attack when I laid my eyes on this beauty...YES PLEASE!!!
Last year's Pantone color of the year was turquoise because of its calming effect (much-needed after a tumultuous 2009). This year, they're forecasting a way more vibrant color: Honeysuckle! According to Pantone Color Institute Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman, In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going perfect to ward off the blues." It's already been on the red carpet and it's showing up in various of shades of cute items right now!
Hello lovelies! I can't believe I've forgotten to share this with you for two weeks, but since I don't have a new inspiration board to share with you today, I thought I'd send you over to 100 Layer Cake where I was a guest blogger for a couple of days.
The Bath and Body Works antibacterial collection is my absolute favorite. In fact, I wash my hands WAY more than necessary because I can't get enough of the Frosted Orange Spice that's in our master bath. Love is not a strong enough word. So my friends, I always try and let you know when they're having a sale. This one is colossal! Seriously unheard of prices. Unfortunately I won't be hitting the sale. Why? Because I have a stockpile of about 10 right now.
Does anybody else have an obsession with the Bath and Body Works soaps? If so- what's your favorite scent?
It's been awhile since I posted a rustic barn inspiration board, and since it finally felt like spring here yesterday, I thought that today I'd post one that combines those two things. A lucky horseshoe motif on the invitations hints at the country location - and maybe set up a horseshoe pit for your guests to enjoy during cocktail hour. We see so many autumn barn weddings, but white flowers, blossoming branches and chocolate quail eggs (in a little nest!) mean Spring, which I think is a nice "theme" for a slightly formal ranch wedding.
Mood: rustic, elegant spring wedding Palette: nest brown, petal white
